Kunce
Lucas Kunce easily outpaced three lesser-funded Democrats on Tuesday to win their party’s nomination to oppose Republican U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley in the Nov. 5 general election.
Building on the statewide name recognition developed during his unsuccessful Senate run two years ago, Kunce rolled up a 68% to 23% lead over his nearest opponent, state Sen. Karla May of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
Kunce, of Independence, and Hawley, who was unopposed in the GOP primary, both took to social media Tuesday night to talk about debating.
Hawley, in a post on X, said "congrats to @LucasKunceMO —now let’s debate." Hawley suggested that the two square off at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia next week.
Hawley continued as follows: "No fancy studio or moderators. Just the two of us on a trailer. Lincoln-Douglas style. I’ll bring the trailer. I’ll even let Kunce go first."

In addition to Kunce and Hawley, this year's November ballot will include two other Senate candidates — Libertarian W.C. Young of Kansas City and independent candidate Jared Young of Webb City, running under the banner of the Better Party.Â
