JEFFERSON CITY 鈥 State ethics officials hit a former Democratic Party association in the city of 蜜芽传媒 and its treasurer with over $13,000 in fines as part of a consent agreement finalized this month.
The 19th Ward Democratic Association and treasurer Queen Byrd will only have to pay $1,321 of a $13,223 fine if certain conditions are met.
The Missouri Ethics Commission found probable cause to believe the respondents violated state law when they failed to report 92 expenditures between September 2018 and November 2022.
The largest unreported expenditure was a $700 payment on Nov. 9, 2022 鈥 to Queen Byrd, according to the ethics commission. Byrd did not immediately respond to a message left with a phone number listed in state records.
The association also paid $1,700 classified as 鈥減oll worker鈥 expenses to individuals, the ethics commission said.

Officials also found probable cause the 19th Ward Democratic Association broke state law by not reporting 15 contributions totaling $5,500 received between August 2018 and November 2022.
The ethics commission also found probable cause the respondents violated state law by failing to timely register a committee, exceeding limits on cash contributions and spending, and failing to file timely and accurate campaign disclosure reports.
The association was terminated in November, according to MEC records.
