ST. CHARLES — One of two toddlers injured in a house fire Wednesday has died.
Nova Rayne Chandler-Wallace, 2, died the day after the fire, her father confirmed Saturday. Chris Wallace declined to speak further on the matter.
Nova and her 3-year-old sister were injured in the fire at the Sunnydale Mobile Home Park around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The elder sister and the girls' mother were able to escape on their own, St. Charles fire Capt. Kelly Hunsel said.Â
Firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire when they arrived to the 200 block of Pinedale Drive, and the mother outside told them Nova was still inside, Hunsel said.
Crews rescued the girl, and medics took her to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Children's Hospital in critical condition.

Nova's sister was stable and taken to a hospital for treatment of minor smoke inhalation.
When asked about Nova's cause of death, Hunsel said Nova had smoke inhalation injuries and some burns, but she couldn't say to what extent.
A set up by a family friend said the girls' home was completely destroyed.
A description for the fundraiser identified the mother as Amber Chandler.
Nova passed away "surrounded by her loving family," the fundraiser's organizer, Nicole Arslanbas, wrote.
"She was held, loved, and cherished until her very last breath."
Hunsel said the fire is still under investigation.
